What is a vitamin injection?
A vitamin injection is a small dose of a vitamin, or a vitamin-like compound, given by injection into a muscle, usually in the upper arm. At vFlow, injections are given by a trained practitioner using sterile, single-use equipment, and only after a consultation, health screening and suitability check.

Vitamin injection or IV drip: what's the difference?
The main differences are the route, the volume and the time. A vitamin injection is a small volume given into a muscle in a few minutes. An IV drip is a larger volume of fluid, often with added vitamins or minerals, given into a vein over a longer appointment. A clinician decides which, if either, is suitable.

Do I need a consultation?
Yes. Some injectable vitamins are prescription-only medicines, so they can only be given after a prescriber has assessed you and decided an injection is appropriate. Your consultation covers your health, medication and what you are looking for. Every treatment is subject to suitability, and we may decline if an injection is not right for you.

Should I get a blood test first?
If you think you may be low in a vitamin, speak to your GP first. A GP can arrange a blood test to check your levels and look for an underlying cause, and can offer treatment where it is needed. Our vitamin injections are wellness services and are not a substitute for diagnosis or medical care.

You book a consultation first. Some injectable vitamins are prescription-only medicines, so they can only be given after a prescriber has assessed you and decided an injection is appropriate. If it is not, we will not go ahead.
How is a vitamin injection given?
A trained practitioner gives the injection into a muscle, usually in the upper arm, using sterile, single-use equipment. Final checks and your consent come first.
Is a vitamin injection a treatment for a deficiency?
Our vitamin injections are wellness services and are not a substitute for medical care. If you think you may have a vitamin deficiency or another health problem, speak to your GP, who can arrange testing and treatment where needed.
Who can have a vitamin injection with vFlow?
Adults aged 18 or over who complete a health screening and are assessed as suitable. You need to give accurate information about your health and medication. We may decline treatment on clinical grounds.

Consultations can lead to treatment at our Preston clinic or, where suitable, as a mobile session across the North West. Mobile sessions need a clean, suitable setting and depend on practitioner availability.
