How does a mobile IV drip session work?
A mobile session follows the same clinical steps as a clinic appointment. At vFlow it works like this:
- Book online: choose your treatment, location and time, and pay a deposit to secure your slot.
- Complete your health screening and consent before the appointment.
- Our clinical team reviews your suitability.
- On the day, your practitioner arrives, completes final checks and consent, and only then prepares your drip.
- The drip usually runs for 30 to 60 minutes while you sit or recline.
- The cannula is removed, you get aftercare advice, and the balance is due on the day.
What does the practitioner bring?
A mobile practitioner should arrive with everything needed to give the treatment safely, typically:
- The prescribed ingredients for your drip.
- Sterile, single-use cannulas, giving sets and dressings.
- A drip stand or hanger.
- Equipment to check observations such as pulse and blood pressure.
- Emergency equipment and medicines for allergic reactions.
- A sharps bin and clinical waste bags, so nothing is left behind.
What do I need to provide at home?
Very little. A suitable setting helps the session run safely and comfortably:
- A comfortable chair or sofa where you can sit or recline for up to an hour.
- Good lighting and a clean, clear surface nearby.
- A reasonably quiet space, with pets kept in another room.
Who is a mobile IV session suited to?
Mobile sessions suit people who would rather not travel to a clinic, or who want to book for a group. Sessions can take place at:
- Your home.
- Your office or workplace, for example as part of a staff wellbeing day.
- Private events.
- Groups: you can add more than one person to a booking, and everyone is screened and checked for suitability individually.

Is there a travel fee for an IV drip at home?
A travel or call-out fee may apply to mobile bookings, depending on where you are. If you are not sure whether one applies to your address, ask us when you book.
Is it safe to have an IV drip at home?
A mobile drip should meet the same safety standards as one given in a clinic: screening first, a clinician checking suitability, sterile single-use equipment and a practitioner who stays with you throughout. Your practitioner may decline treatment if they decide it is not suitable for you, or if the setting is not suitable, and if treatment is declined on clinical grounds your deposit is refunded in full.
What happens after a mobile IV drip?
When the drip has finished, the cannula is removed, pressure is applied and a small dressing is put on. Your practitioner will give you aftercare advice before they leave.
Contact us if you notice redness, swelling or pain where the cannula was, or if you feel unwell afterwards. If you have difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or feel seriously unwell, call 999.
